How it started

backgammononline.eu was launched in May 2020 – based on the same idea as my other game sites such as solitairekostenlos.de and sudokukostenlos.de: a classic game, free in the browser, without sign-up and without detours. Just open the page and play.

A one-person show

There is no company with a team behind this site, just one person. I plan, program, write the texts and look after the server myself.

What drives me is a love of games and of programming – and the joy of seeing a game run smoothly and people having fun with it.

Version 3.0: rebuilt in 2026

What you see here is already the third version of the site – backgammononline.eu 3.0. In the beginning the site ran ready-made games from other providers. In 2026 the site was programmed from scratch: the backgammon game, the three computer levels, practice mode and the online mode with its own game server.

That has a big advantage: bugs can be fixed directly, and the game keeps getting better step by step – often thanks to feedback from players.

What matters to me

That you can report bugs and suggest improvements at any time: below every game there is a “Report a bug” button, also for ideas on what could be better. Every report comes straight to me, and I read it myself.

No account, no sign-up, no download. Fonts are served from my own server, and the online mode stores neither names nor email addresses – everyone plays under a made-up name.

The site is funded by advertising. Personalised ads are only shown with your consent. Details are in the privacy policy (German).
